ABRALON is a unique specialty product for finishing sanding. ABRALON reduces conventional polishing procedures to a minimum, resulting in significant time savings and cost reductions.
Typical applications include high-gloss paints, mineral materials, and gel coats. ABRALON's construction consists of the abrasive net, foam center, and hook-and-loop backing. The abrasive grains are attached to the net. The openings in the abrasive net allow water and air to move freely around the abrasive grains during surface sanding. ABRALON is excellent for rounded surfaces, corners, and sharp edges. During dry sanding, the abrasive net moves continuously, preventing the buildup of sanding dust. Surface cleaning is easily achieved with compressed air.
When ABRALON is used for wet sanding, the open cell structure compresses, pushing water into the foam center through the openings in the abrasive net. When the foam expands again, the liquid is absorbed back. This constant movement of water in and out keeps the product clean and extends its lifespan.
